Edwards grabs Bristol pole, Bayne to start 19th
Edwards turned a lap of 128.014 mph in a Ford to bump Greg Biffle from the top starting spot for Sunday's race. Biffle had claimed the pole moments earlier with a lap of 127.622.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) -- Carl Edwards has won the pole at Bristol Motor Speedway, and teammate Greg Biffle qualified second to give Roush Fenway Racing the front row.

Edwards turned a lap of 128.014 mph in a Ford to bump Biffle from the top starting spot for Sunday's race. Biffle had claimed the pole moments earlier with a lap of 127.622.

Regan Smith was a career-best third in Friday's qualifying, turning a lap at 127.580 in a Chevrolet. Paul Menard qualified fourth and was followed by David Ragan, another Roush driver, defending race winner Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.

Martin Truex Jr. qualified seventh in a Toyota, and Mark Martin and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top 10.

Matt Kenseth, the fourth Roush driver, qualified 11th.

Kurt Busch was the highest qualifying Dodge driver at 20th.
