CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WVLT) -- Knoxville native and NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne has seen a lot of change for a 19-year-old.

"It's a lot to take in at 19," Bayne told Sports Overtime's Daryl Hobby during the NASCAR Media Tour. "It's a lot to take in for anybody."

"It" represents nearly constant instability for the budding stock car racer, who will be racing for his third team when the season revs up in February.

Bayne left Michael Waltrip Racing for Roush-Fenway during the offseason. After running a full Nationwide schedule a year ago, he is adding at least 17 Sprint Cup races to his resume this season, including the Daytona 500. He'll also race in every Nationwide event.

"I'm excited as a driver," Bayne said. "I can't wait to get to Daytona. I have teammates to push me and I think we can really contend for this championship."

Bayne will drive the Wood Brothers No. 21 Chevy in his Sprint Cup races. And even though many are calling him NASCAR's next big star, he's still fond of talking about his hometown of Knoxville.

"A lot of my friends still come down," Bayne said. "I had 14 people stay at my house last week from Tennessee. I go back and forth a lot from Mooresville to Knoxville. I really love Knoxville."

And he's giving Knoxville a reason to love him back.
