Nascar peaked in 2005 and they are unfortunately going to learn the same lesson that Indy racing learned. The IRL has one and only one race that anyone knows or cares about. Nascar has apparently decided that to follow the same path and only expand outside of their true market and ignore their true fans. Nashville is a sports town and supports NFL and the NHL teams. Only 3 cities in the southeastern U.S. have either. But apparently, even with droves of fans it's still not good enough for Nascar. Good Riddance Helton. We'll see how Kentucky and Kansas workout for you over the next couple of years.

I guess Helton and his money hungry group figure there's not enough yuppies or card carriers to bring Nascar to Nashville. Nascar officials have forgotten just who made racing what it is today, the good-ole boys that work "gasp", yes work for a living and now can't afford to go racin anymore. The leaders of Nascar are on their way to making racing "boogidy, boogidy, boogidy" straight into Chapter 11. Sad, so sad.
