NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Dolly Parton visited former duet partner Porter Wagoner in the hospital Friday and pledged to sing with him again.
The 80-year-old Wagoner is being treated for an undisclosed ailment and is in serious condition.
Parton said she's sing with him on the first night he returns to the Grand Ole Opry.
Parton described Wagoner as very weak but "had his wits and joked around."
Wagoner, who has performed on the Opry for 50 years, helped launch Parton's career by hiring her as his duet partner in 1967.
He was admitted to the hospital earlier this week.
