Great Knoxville Rubber Duck Race
The Great Knoxville Rubber Duck Race is Saturday, Aug. 16, at Volunteer Landing in downtown Knoxville.
Nearly 50,000 ducks will be competiting for $30,000 in prizes by racing down the river about a mile or so. You can adopt a duck at the event, which also features a mini carnival for children, and lasts 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday. The money raised benefits the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley.
Tennessee Smokies Baseball
The Tennessee Smokies are in Sevier County for the next few nights as they take on the Birmingham Barons.
First pitch each night is at 7:15. Friday night, Aug. 15, there's a free fireworks show immediately after the game.
Feast With The Beasts
If mom and dad are looking for a night out to themselves, the Knoxville Zoo is hosting its annual Feast with the Beasts.
The adults-only event is Saturday night, Aug. 16, from 7:00 until 11:00 at the Knoxville Zoo, and features delictable food and drink from the area, live music, and a silent auction.
