NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The bassist for the rock band 3 Doors Down remains jailed after being accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal crash that killed a motorist in Nashville over the weekend.
Bassist Robert Todd Harrell is currently being held in the Metro Nashville Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. He has a court appearance scheduled Thursday, but court records do not indicate that he has retained a lawyer. He is facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide by intoxication.
Police say the 41-year-old musician was speeding on an interstate in a Nashville suburb Friday night when his Cadillac CTS clipped a pickup truck. The truck lost control, smashed into a guardrail and went down an embankment. The pickup driver was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
