Winfrey to speak at Duke University commencement

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Oprah Winfrey will deliver the 2009 commencement address at Duke University in Durham.

Duke President Richard Brodhead said Monday that Winfrey will speak Sunday, May 10. He described the talk show host and philanthropist as "one of the most compelling figures of this time."

Winfrey also will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree at the commencement ceremony.
