3 plead not guilty of killing So. African pop star

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) -- The South African Press Association reports that three men accused of murdering a pop star have pleaded not guilty.

The trial of the three started Monday. They are accused in the death of South African pop star Lucky Dube, who was shot to death in front of his two children in 2007 in an apparent carjacking attempt in Johannesburg.

The death of the internationally known reggae star drew worldwide attention to South Africa's crime rate.
