"Survivor: One World" winner Kim Spradlin plans to spend her $1M on "special things"

(CBS News) Kim Spradlin appeared on CBS' "The Talk" on Monday, hours after she was crowned winner of "Survivor: One World."

Spradlin visited the daytime talk show to claim her $1 million prize. When asked what she plans to do with the money, the 29-year-old winner said she never had a "ton of money," so she plans to put in an account and use it for "special things" such as vacations.

The San Antonio, Texas, native will also use some of the winnings to "spruce up" her bridesmaid apparel shop back home.

Spradlin said that throughout the competition, she never thought New York high school teacher Sabrina Thompson would win, adding that she believed medical saleswoman Chelsea Meissner of Charleston, S.C., was the person to beat.

"I really was surprised," said Spradlin, who said she never considered giving up. "I tried to make the best of every day."
