At about 1 a.m. Saturday morning Knoxville Police Officers responded to a single-car collision on Kingston Pike near Cheshire Drive.
According to police, officers discovered a white 2011 Nissan Frontier traveling eastbound that had ran off the roadway and struck a U-HAUL sign at 7209 Kingston Pike.
The sole occupant of the car, 23-year-old Justin Landers of South Knoxville, was discovered unresponsive and transported to UT Medical Center. He was later pronounced deceased.
A KPD Fatal Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and is investigating. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a contributing factor.
