KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The FBI is joining Knoxville Police and the Knox County Sheriff's Office in searching for two men they say robbed a First Tennessee Bank on Western Avenue Friday evening.
Police say the men entered the bank around 5:00 p.m. and verbally demanded money.
Witnesses described the first suspect as a white man between 35 and 40 years old, about 6' tall and weighing about 200 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored, long-sleeved, button-up shirt over a dark-colored t-shirt, a khaki fishing hat and a dust filter mask.
The second suspect was also a white man about 6' tall and weighing about 250 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved, gray button-down shirt, a dark-colored fishing hat and a dust filter mask.
The robbers obtained an undetermined amount of money and left in what may be a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.
Investigators believe, based on descriptions and surveillance photos, that at least one of the men may be involved in other bank robberies.
