4 shot, 2 dead in Hickman County shooting

CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two people have been killed and two others wounded in a Middle Tennessee shooting.

Hickman County Sheriff Randal Ward told WTVF-TV in Nashville police were called about a domestic situation Monday night and arrived to find three people had been shot.

Ward said a man in the yard at the home was holding a gun and raised it toward officers, who shot and wounded him. That man and one of the initial shooting victims were taken by helicopter to a Nashville hospital.

Investigators say two people were found dead. They also say another woman had been inside the house, but fled.

No names were released.

The shooting occurred at a home on Nine Mile Ridge Road off state Hwy. 50.
