Karns crash kills one, other driver in critical condition

KARNS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One driver was killed and another rushed to the hospital following a head on collision in Hardin Valley on Sunday night, according to the Karns Fire Dept.

Emergency crews arrived at the intersection of Steele Road and Valley View Landing shortly after 9:30 p.m. One of the drivers was found pinned inside of a vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other driver was thrown from the car during the crash and was taken to UT Medical Center. No passengers were in either of the vehicles.

The Knox Co. Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. No names have been released.

    No, the intersection that it happened didn't have a traffic light. It was on Steele Rd, near the first neighborhood on it coming from Hardin Valley Rd.

    Where they had the wreck was about a half mile from the red light at Steele and Hardin Valey Road.

    Does it matter where it happened? Someone lost their live and you are worried about the CORRECT area that it happened in! Show some respect!

    How sad. This intersection has a traffic light so it is difficult to understand how this happened. This intersection is in Hardin Valley and not Karns.
