CLAXTON, Tenn. (WVLT)--Shanna Richardson and Michael Baker were shot and killed by officials in a gun battle on Wednesday.
The two were from Greene County, Indiana.
Richardson was a wanted convict.
She had an outstanding warrant on a receiving stolen property violation after burglarizing a church.
Baker spent time behind bars for burglary and theft.
The beginning of the end for them began here at a gas station in Lake City, Tennessee after they stole a tank of gas in a stolen truck.
The store clerks notified deputies who tracked down thier truck.
A chase began and near this fire station parking lot, the couple unloaded on deputies who had no choice but to fire back.
After it was all said and done, Richardson and Baker were both dead.
TBI's investigation into the shooting is currently open and ongoing and no more details will be released at this time.
The investigation will take several months to complete at which time it will be turned over to the district attorney general for review.
