KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed after being hit by a semi-truck Tuesday morning. Tom Kerley's body was found lying in the driveway of the Ameri-Lam Supply Group, 900 Dutch Valley Drive, shortly after 7:30 a.m.

According to a Knoxville Police Dept. spokesperson, Kerley was dead by the time officers arrived. The preliminary investigation indicated the semi, driven by Jimmy Spires, of South Carolina, was backing down the driveway to the warehouse when Kerley was hit.

The spokesperson indicated there was no evidence of foul play and that the death appeared to be accidental.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
