KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A runaway teen was arrested after he threatened his mother with a knife early Tuesday afternoon, according to the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office.
The fifteen year-old, who was not identified due to his age, had been missing since Friday. His parents finally found him a west Knox Co. home on Rennboro Rd. around noon Tuesday where he allegedly confronted his mother and fled into the nearby woods.
His parents called the Sheriff's Office, who set up a perimeter around the area and brought in the county's helicopter and K-9's to aid in the search. The teen eventually surrendered to authorities around 2:00 p.m.
He was taken to the Knox Co. Juvenile Detention Facility and is awaiting charges.
