KNOX COUNTY (WVLT) -- Two days after releasing the first draft of an auditing on how the Knox County Mayor's Office used its P-cards, county commissioners were still getting an earful.
Several residents chewed the issue over breakfast on Saturday morning with their commissioners in the sixth district, Greg "Lumpy" Lambert and new appointee Robert Rountree.
"I pay my taxes, and I don't like them to be misspent when we have schools that need to be built, roads that need to be repaired, and other things in this county that need to be done," said Lyvonne Lewis, a county resident. "The money's been wasted on inappropriate things."
"People are pretty angry," said Lambert. "A lot of folks are wondering why people haven't been arrested over it, and most folks are saying, 'we want them to pay it back.'"
As of Saturday, the mayor's office had 18 days left to officially respond to the audit.
