17 year old dies in crash in Claiborne County

HARROGATE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Harrogate teen was killed when the truck he was driving slid off the road and rolled several times. According to the THP, Ryan Marcum, 17, died in the wreck; his passenger 17 Jacob Ayers was also hurt in the crash.

THP reports indicate Marcum was taking a curve in the 1000 block of Big Springs Road when his Chevrolet full-size pick-up started sliding on the snow and ice.

The truck went off the left side of the road before it started rolling, eventually landing on its driver's side. Marcum was partially ejected in the crash.

Neither Marcum nor Ayers were wearing seat belts, THP noted. No charges are going to be filed.
