KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Old, damaged or unusable American flags have to be disposed of in a dignified way, typically burned. Not everyone knows can properly burn them, but the city of Knoxville has an answer.
Just place the flag in clear plastic bag on top of your garbage can for regualr pick up. Or you can drop them off at designated recycling centers. Some centers who will accept the flags include: Kroger Stores on Western Avenue and Kingston Pike, Downtown Recycling Center on State Street, Goodwill Collection Centers at Parkvillage Road and Moody Avenue.
