ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Police say a pedestrian has been killed after being hit while walking on a sidewalk in Asheville.
Investigators said the crash happened around 12:15 p.m. Sunday on Kimberly Avenue, a tree-lined street in north Asheville with sidewalks on both sides of the road.
Police identified the woman killed as 66-year-old Virginia Senechal. They say the 29-year-old driver that struck Senechal is being questioned.
Authorities have not said how the vehicle ended up on the sidewalk.
No charges have been filed.
