KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three Knox Co. institutions took home national honors in the latest U.S. News & World Report's rankings of the best high schools in the country. Hardin Valley Academy, Farragut High School, and Bearden High School all took home Silver Medals from the popular magazine.
In Tennessee alone, Hardin Valley just eked into the top ten, while Farragut and Bearden ranked 13th and 14th, respectively. Nationwide, they all finished in the top 7 percent.
U.S. News collected data on more than 21,000 charter, magnet, and public high schools across the nation for its survey. It awarded 500 gold medals, 1,790 silver medals, and 2,515 bronze medals.
