3 adults charged after 4 children found in U-Haul

JACKSON, Tenn.(WVLT) -- Three adults from Texas were arrested when four children were found in the back of a moving truck during a traffic stop in West Tennessee.

Trooper Baron Cooper stopped the U-Haul truck on Interstate 40 in Madison County on Wednesday.

Cooper said the adults in the truck cab told him they were traveling from Texas to Ohio. During a search, Cooper found four children ages 4, 5, 9, and 13 lying on foam bedding in the cargo area.

Joseph Howarth Jr. and Tressa J. Morris, both of Euless, Texas are chared with child endangerment. Jose Cecena Manuel is wanted on probation violation in Texas was also charged.

The children the Department of Children's Services took custody.
