Motorcyclist killed in East Tennessee crash

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a Kingsport man has died in a motorcycle accident.

Kingsport Police Department Officer Dale Farmer told the Times-News witnesses said the motorcycle had just turned from Lynn Garden Drive onto Gravely Road Sunday morning when the driver accelerated drastically.

The victim, who was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, entered a ditch line and struck an electric pole before coming to rest.

The name of the victim was not immediately pending notification of family members.
