Maryville, Blount County (AP) -- A judge in Maryville has sentenced a woman who fled the scene of an accident in which her car struck an eleven-year-old boy.
Thirty-four-year-old Christina Gail Bowers of Greenback appeared in court Monday, pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.
Judge William Brewer ordered 90-day terms on leaving the scene and driving on a suspended license to be served consecutively. He allowed a suspended term on the driving without insurance charge.
A Blount County Sheriff's report said Bowers' car struck the boy's bike and stopped, then Bowers ran away on foot.
Young Forest Grant of Louisville was taken to a hospital after the September fifth accident, but was released from the emergency room after treatment.
