Police find baby safe after car theft

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis say a baby was found safe after the car he was left inside was stolen at a convenience store.

WMC-TV reported police found the infant in a breezeway at an apartment complex and found the stolen car nearby.

Officers said the baby was not harmed and was reunited with his mother.

The theft occurred early Wednesday morning. Police didn't immediately say whether the car had been left unlocked or running, but said the baby was in the back seat.

No suspects were immediately found.
