Humboldt police officer involved in fatal shooting

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the shooting death of a man by a Humboldt police officer.

Police Chief Ray Simmons says 29-year-old Paul Carrier of Milan fatally shot 29-year-old Roy Glenn Jr., who jumped from a car and ran early Sunday morning. According to The Jackson Sun, other details were not released.

Glenn's body was sent to Memphis for an autopsy.

Carrier has been a Humboldt police officer since November 2007. He was placed on administrative leave after the shooting.
