Anderson County deputies bust urine meth lab

On Thursday, Anderson County authorities raided a house being used by a suspect to allegedly recycle urine back into the powerful and illegal stimulant.

Anderson County deputies seized 241 two liter bottles and 17 gallon jugs in a urine meth lab bust on April 2nd, 2009.

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – There is a new method of cooking methamphetamine that’s starting to pop up in East Tennessee.

On Thursday, Anderson County authorities raided a house being used by a suspect to allegedly recycle urine back into the powerful and illegal stimulant.

Officials with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office told Volunteer TV News that they’ve recently started coming across urine meth labs.

“This is the third one,” said Lt. Kenny Sharp, “but this is the largest we've had.”

Anderson County officials received an anonymous on-line tip about the lab just outside of Clinton and decided to investigate it on Thursday afternoon. When they responded to the home in the 400 block of Carroll Hollow Road, they discovered a large number of plastic bottles and jugs and were able to confirm that bodily fluids were being used to make the highly additive drug.

“They basically urinate in the bottles to remake the meth later on,” said Lt. Sharp. “The users will bring the urine back to use the urine again and trade it out for more meth."

Deputies ended up confiscated 241 two liter bottles and 17 gallons jugs filled with urine. They also removed a trash bag full of other items used to manufacture methamphetamine.

A Haz-Mat team had to be called in to clean up the waste, which according to the authorities only proves the extremes addicts and sellers will go to.

"Meth users are sometimes asked in a jail for their urine,” said Lt. Sharp, “because they'll process it and consume the urine to get a high off of it."

Ricky Harber, 47 was booked on promotion of methamphetamine charges and remained in jail Thursday night on a $20,000 bond. Deputies said others may be charge as well.

This story is a total fabrication and no truth exists in it whatsoever. This story was written to further portray meth users in an unfavorable light and for no other apparent reason than to make the unsuspecting reader hear yet another bizarre event related to drug use. Don't be fooled by such ridiculousness. Drugs make people do abnormal things but this is off the scale and not true in any way.

Even Cheech and Chong can't believe this one. Stories like this are exactly why people from other parts of the country think folks from the south are so odd.
