Maryville, Blount County (WVLT) - As we first told you last night at 11:00, a veteran deputy will soon be floating between six Blount County Schools to make sure students are protected.
Back in June, Sheriff James Berrong said major budget problems forced him to take ten resource officers out of schools and place them back in the patrol division.
The sheriff later returned some of the officers to schools, but six schools were still left unprotected.
