Knoxville (AP) - The University of Tennessee has been hired by the US Air Force to improve its business operations.
UT has a five-year, $25 million contract for the College of Business Administration faculty to help with a variety of research and development projects.
UT will develop curriculum, teach programs, provide technical assistance and help come up with cost-saving ideas and models.
In one of the first projects, a faculty member will work with air force acquisition experts for a year to help them speed up and streamline their work. Other projects already planned include a more performance-based approach to managing major air force service contracts.
The contract is the largest ever signed with UT's Business School.
