Newport Man Accidentally Shot While Hunting

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is investigating a hunting accident in Cocke County.

It happened about 8:45 Saturday morning.

Officials say 46 year old David Crum of Newport was shot in the leg when his pistol fell to the ground and discharged.

Crum and his brother were deer hunting on the Susong Farm.

The two brothers have been charged with possessing firearms while hunting during an archery only season.

Crum was treated and released.
