One in custody after stabbing in West Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man is in custody and facing charges after an overnight stabbing.

Police say they received two calls last night just before midnight. The first was a disturbance call on North Belle Meade Street and a second for a stabbing at the Pilot on Western Avenue. They quickly determined the two called were related.

Police say 31-year-old Deena Castleman and 29-year-old Joshua Grubb got into a fight with 39-year-old Jason Hickman, Castleman's ex-boyfriend.

Hickman stabbed and punched Grubb and then threw a rock at the car Castleman was sitting in. Castleman and Grubb went to the Pilot and called police.

They were taken to St. Mary's with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

Hickman was taken into custody and is facing aggravated assault and aggravated domestic assault charges.
