First Anniversary of Campbell County School Shooting

Jacksboro, Campbell County (WVLT) - It's been one year since the deadly school shooting in Campbell County... And students are out of class today, in remembrance of the incident.

Police say when three administrators questioned freshman Kenneth Bartley Junior about possessing a gun, he shot and killed Assistant Principal Ken Bruce.

Principal Gary Seale and Assistant Principal Jim Pierce were both also shot, but recovered from their injuries.

The accused shooter is now 15-years-old and faces charges of murder and attempted murder.

Tonight's memorial marking the one year anniversary will take place at 6-o'clock at the Campbell County High School football field.

Mr. Seale, Mr. Pierce and Ken Bruce's widow, Jo, are all expected to speak.
