Search Continues For Missing Tennessee Boaters

Cross, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina officials continue to search today for two Tennessee boaters missing since their fishing boat capsized in Lake Moultrie earlier this week.

Friends say 58-year-old Garry Pippin and 63-year-old Rufus Ryan, both of Bristol, Tennessee, lost their grip on their 18-foot boat sometime after it overturned Sunday afternoon.

Dave Cooper of Bristol was rescued about four hours after the boat capsized. Cooper was taken to Trident Medical center in North Charleston for treatment of hypothermia. The water temperature was 61 degrees.

The men were participating in a fishing tournament when they failed to report for a weigh-in.

A rescue official says various agencies are searching the lake in the southeastern part of the state and will continue until the bodies are found.
