Townsend, Blount County (WVLT) - The Blount County Sheriff's office says a 52-year-old Townsend woman was the victim of an aggravated robbery in her residence early Friday morning.
The woman, who lives on old Tuckaleechee Pike in Townsend, was not seriously injured during the incident.
She told officers she picked up a gun from her night stand and went to investigate, after hearing a loud noise around 5:30 a.m.
She saw a female in her late 20's, and was then struck with a bar stool by a man.
She attempted to shoot him, but her weapon misfired.
The man is described as wearing a black ski mask, a down-style coat, blue jeans and gloves.
He is accused of taking several prescription bottles from the residence.
The investigation is continuing at this hour.
