Knoxville (WVLT) - So far the number of deaths reported over the Thanksgiving weekend is down from last year.
The unofficial total is 7.
Last year there were 17 highway deaths during the same period.
This year two people from the Knoxville area died, one in Knoxville and one in Campbell County.
THP officials say the operation care program helped reduce the number of serious crashes.
