Two in Texas Charged With Planning To Join the Taliban

Houston (AP) -- Texas is a long way from Afghanistan. But authorities in Texas say two men are under arrest after allegedly being trained in the Lone Star State to go join the Taliban.

One of the suspects is an American citizen from Houston, while the other is described as an illegal alien from Pakistan. Both face conspiracy charges and are being held without bail.

According to the FBI, the pair got training in guns and reconnaissance, and were getting ready to carry out attacks on coalition troops in the Mideast. The indictment says the suspects view the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan as "invaders."
