Seymour, Sevier County (WVLT) - A student remains in juvenile custody this afternoon after Seymour officials allege he brought a gun to school.
The 11-year-old was arrested last night at his home.
Officials with the Sevier County Sheriffs Office say the boy brought a gun in his backpack to Seymour Middle School.
Another student learned about the gun while riding on the bus home from school.
Several school resource officers recovered the gun at the child's home and arrested him on charges of carrying a weapon on school property.
The child will be held at a center pending a hearing before a judge.
