SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Troopers say a single motorcycle accident is to blame for the death of a George woman late Friday night near Pigeon Forge.

It happened around 10:30 PM on Wears Valley Road.

Investigators say Karen C. Posey of Hartwell, Georgia was the passenger on the motorcycle when the driver lost control going around a curve and crossed over the white line on the shoulder. The bike lost traction on the loose gravel and overturned when the driver tried to correct his steering. They came to a rest near the intersection of Trace Way.

The THP report indicates drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been involved.

No charges are expected to be filed.

Mr. Posey, My name is Michael Duncan, I live in Wears Valley and the night of the accident I drove by the scene. First I'm truly sorry for your lose and I realize the 12th is the 1 year. I've seen the monument you have placed at the roadside. This is the 1st I've found the info to contact you. Being a prior police officer and detective I saw a bag of cement that appeared to be in what could have been the cause of your accident. I asked Deputy which is a friend this was determined to be the cause because it was on the roadway on the right side. I heard that possibly you were sighted. The evidence of the cement is still on the roadway one year later. Sir I prayed for you and your wife when this occurred and it still remains on my mind today every time I drive past. I had even contacted a Sarg at the Sheriffs office telling them the bag of cement was still on the road days later. I don't know if at this point it even makes a difference. I'm not on a face book but my email is attached
