Man Shot in East Knoxville While Allegedly Buying Crack

Knoxville (WVLT) - Officers say just before midnight, Wednesday night, Alcoa Police officers stopped a car for reckless driving.

Officers say the driver, 20-year-old Aaron Rutherfold had been shot in the leg.

Rutherford told police he had been in Austin Homes in Knoxville attempting to buy crack, when the suspect demanded all his money.

Rutherford says he refused and was shot.

He was taken to Blount Memorial with a non-life threatening injury.

Knoxville Police are looking for a black man about 6' to 6'3", 23 to 30 years old, with dreadlocks, a full beard and mustache. The suspect had on all black clothing.
