Baghdad, Iraq (AP) -- US military officials in Iraq are reporting the deaths of five American troops from combat wounds.
One soldier was killed and another wounded Friday when their patrol came under fire west of Baghdad. Thursday, three Marines and a sailor died from wounds suffered in combat in western Anbar Province.
Seventy-six American troops have been killed so far this month, making it one of the deadliest of the year.
The military also says US-led forces have killed one terrorist and detained 25 suspects in morning raids across the country. The operations targeted the Al-Qaeda in Iraq network and foreign fighters.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Police report a car bomb has killed two people and wounded four others in the town of Samarra, about 60 miles north of Baghdad.
