Sevier County woman killed five years ago, case still unsolved

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Sunday marks the five year anniversary of Shannon Hercutt's death.

Deputies say her body was found inside her Cadillac Escalade down an embankment on Walker Trail in the Fox Run resort area around 11:00 p.m. in 2009.

Officials originally thought her death was an accident, but an autopsy revealed her injuries were not consistent with a car crash.

This case has remained open since then, and a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of who is responsible is being offered.

If you have any information on this case, call the Sevier County Sheriff's Office at 865-428-1899.
