Knoxville (WVLT) - Crouch florist on Clinton Highway is cleaning up after a fire around seven Sunday morning. An off duty KPD officer on his way home spotted smoke coming from the building and called the fire department. The center of the building has some smoke and fire damage, and the owner hopes to re-open the store by February.
Fire fighters tell us they believe an electrical short sparked the trouble.
A few hours later, another fire broke out at the ABF Transport Facility on Pleasant Ridge Road. The Knoxville Fire Department says it started somewhere in the ceiling and was contained to one office. The fire came through the roof causing extensive damage to the roof, but the owner tells us fortunately there was no expensive or important equipment damaged inside.
