London (AP) -- Two US sailors are dead, after being swept from the deck of a nuclear submarine off the coast of southern England.
British Coast Guards say waves swept four sailors off the deck of the sub as it left Plymouth Harbor in rough weather. Rescue boats picked up all four. They were taken to a hospital in Plymouth, where two were pronounced dead. The other two were treated for minor injuries and released.
The sub is the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul. The nuclear-powered attack submarine is based in Norfolk, Virginia, and has a crew of 110.
