Knoxville (WVLT) - Knoxville Police continue to interview witnesses to find out who fired a deadly shot that killed a Knoxville man Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses tell Knoxville Police the deadly shooting happened on the corner of Natchez Avenue at Wilder Place.
Authorities say 21-year-old Brandon Martin lost his life after being hit at least once by gunfire.
Martin's adult police record dates back to 2003, and includes convictions for assault, and dealing cocaine.
Martin, and 2 other men, arrived at Baptist Hospital about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Martin died later at the hospital.
Police questioned the 2 men, one of whom was carrying a gun, then released them.
Now, investigators are continuing to interview potential suspects and witnesses in the shooting.
Authorities are also reviewing evidence recovered from the scene and the vehicle that delivered martin to the hospital.
"Right now, the investigators are following several leads that have developed through the course of the investigation," KPD spokesman Darrell DeBusk says.
KPD says no one is now in custody and no charges have been filed in the deadly shooting.
Authorities expect to send the results of the investigation to the DA within the next few days, police don't plan to charge anyone until prosecutors have reviewed the case.
