Knoxville (WVLT) - A Knoxville Fire Department spokesman says they may have a series of arson fires on their hands.
Fire crews responded to the report of a fire at a home on Belleaire Avenue in the Western Heights area just after 11:00pm last night.
Crews were able to contain the fire to one room and no on was hurt.
Darrell Whitaker with the Knoxville Fire Department says it was the third fire in the same area on Sunday.
"Right now, our fire investigators are labeling this as suspicious since we've had two fires in this local area just earlier this Sunday morning," Whitaker said.
The other two fires were in vacant buildings and there were no reports of injuries.
A family of five lived in the Belleaire Avenue house.
"The Red Cross is on the scene. They're taking care of them as we speak, making sure they have a place to go and a cash voucher for food and things of necessity and medicines that they might need," said Whitaker.
