Knoxville (WVLT) The family of a Knoxville teen killed when a car struck her is making an emotional plea for your help finding the driver who fled the scene.

17 year old Elizabeth Bush was one of three teens struck last night on Elm Street.

The Fulton High School Senior, died shortly after the crash.

Volunteer TV's Allison Hunt talked with family members today.

Eugene Chandler, Elizabeth's stepfather says, "she really didn't deserve to be taken away, cause she was a good kid."

A good kid, taken too soon.

For family and friends of 17 year old Elizabeth, it's hard to believe she's gone.

"Our family's really distraught over this. We're really upset about it, it's a loss."

Witnesses tell police around 8 o'clock Tuesday night, a white van hit Elizabeth, 17 year old Lance Ferguson and 17 year old Ashley Jernigan and then drove off.

All three were taken to UT Medical Center.

Ferguson and Jernigan were treated and released.

An announcement at Fulton High School this morning told students about the loss of their classmate Elizabeth.

Bridgette West, a counselor there says "it's been a shock to kids and to staff."

West says Elizabeth had a bright smile and sweet nature.

"She was one of those kids who would come in, if she had something she was upset about she would always just smile about it."

And her smile is what Elizabeth's stepfather says made everyone love her.

He says she called herself a drifter.

"She said, I don't hang with just 2 or 3 of the same people, I drift and I hang with everybody, cause I love everybody."

Now all family members can do is hope those responsible are brought to justice.

Chandler continues, "if you're out there and you've got a heart, turn yourself in because she was a good kid, she didn't deserve it."

Police are looking for an older white van, possibly a Chevy Astro or GMC model.

They say it should have damage to the right front corner, and be missing headlight and passenger mirror.

They say it also has a blue neon light around the license plate

If you have seen this vehicle or have any information you are asked to call the KPD crime hotline at 215-7212.
