Knoxville (WVLT) - A Knoxville Assistant Fire Chief is on administrative leave with pay after being arrested on DUI charges.
As we first reported on VolunteerTV.com, Assistant Chief Charles Tommy Stuart was arrested after a traffic stop on Broadway, Monday around 2:00 p.m.
According to the warrant, Stuart told police he had about ten drinks during the day.
He'll be on leave until he's arraigned on February 27th.
We checked, Stuart has an exemplary record over his almost 35 years of service.
The only blemish in his file, last year when a civil service investigation found he allegedly made an inappropriate comment about then-Chief Carlos Perez. A criminal records check shows he was convicted of public drunkenness in 1986.
