Blount County (WVLT) - An accident Thursday morning killed one man and shut down a busy road for over two hours.
The accident happened at about 6:30 this morning on Southbound Alcoa Highway at North Wright Road.
It involved a motorcycle and a car and forced emergency crews to shut down one side of Alcoa Highway.
They diverted the southbound traffic into one lane of northbound Alcoa highway, causing a huge traffic backup.
The road opened back up at about 8:30 a.m. and now traffic running in both directions.
No one in the other vehicle was hurt.
