Maryville, Blount County (News Release) - Blount County Sheriff James Berrong announced today that the body of the man found down an embankment off Montvale Road in Happy Valley has been identified.
The body has been identified as that of Ronald Shannon Neff, 35, Myers Road, Townsend. His identification was found on his body, and fingerprints taken from the body confirmed that it is Neff.
The autopsy was still ongoing at the time of this release.
A vehicle owned by Neff, a 1989 blue Ford Ranger 4 x 2 pick-up truck with rust spots, is missing. Displayed on the vehicle is a Sevier County tag, 247-NKH.
The investigation is continuing. If anyone has seen the truck, or has any information regarding Neff’s activity in the past week, they are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division during normal business hours at 273-5001, or the 24 hour crime hotline at 273-5200.
