Frist Supports Thompson Presidential Bid

Nashville (AP) -- Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist added his voice to those urging Fred Thompson to run for President.

Frist, a Tennessee Republican who abandoned his own presidential ambitions in November, wrote on his blog yesterday that Thompson is "a genuine leader."

Thompson told "Fox News Sunday" that he is giving some thought to running.

Thompson, who plays the character Arthur branch on the TV drama "Law & Order," said he hasn't set a deadline to make a decision.

He's a former US Senator from Tennessee who left office in 2003 in favor of acting.
